I found this quote on one of the many xanga quote blogs I subscribe to and oh my it couldn’t fit my life any better right now. Happily Ever After is boring and quite frankly overrated. I like “Happy for today” or more like “Happy right now” I have no idea what tomorrow brings and my prince charming is charmingly flawed and I’m content with that. My castle is a little tiny room that’s not bigger than my dorm room and there’s no glass slippers or a literal sense of magic. When your in love and you’re not afraid to be in love with that person you don’t care much for the rest of the fairy tale. In fact I think fairy tales are impossible standards to measure something that might exist. Don’t use Cinderella, Snow white or your favorite romantic couple as the blueprint for your relationship or your going to let a lot of great guys pass you by. No one will ever measure to the true prince charming’s standard.
As a kid I fantasized about the guy of my dreams and I struggle with dreams and reality since I spend most of my days daydreaming. In reality at twenty one years old I feel like Disney has conned me. There should be fine print somewhere that says “results are not typical”. You do not ride off in the sunset and live happily for ever. I’ve had my highs and my lows with this guy and I could care less what anyone else has to say. I like my realistic unpredictable completely flawed prince and princess reality and I’ll take it over the perfect boring prince charming and princess that ride into the sunset.
