Americans buy more than three billion pizzas a year. It would be an understatement to say that Americans love their pizza. I am one of those Americans. Pittsburgh is no exception the pizza frenzy. I’m pretty sure we all consume so much pizza that it could be its own food group. June 3rd from 12-6 Pittsburghers are gathering in celebration of pizza.
Pizza Fest goes down in Bakery Square with pizza vendors like Pittsburgh Pizza Truck, Taglio Pizzeria, Grazianos Pizzeria, DeMore’s Pizzeria, Angelo’s Pizzeria and food trucks like Pgh Crepes and Millies Homemade Ice Cream. Enjoy pizza, dessert, beer and music all in one place. Also there’s a pizza eating contest. Rather you’re participating or watching I’m sure it’s fun either way. The cherry on top is this is a free family friendly event and did I mention it’s a pizza festival? For more info on the Steel City Pizza Festival do check out their official Pizza website.
Recently I’ve been in love with Alberta’s Pizza which is a brick oven pop up pizza shop. 🍕. You can catch these guys at the Brew Gentleman on any given Friday and it’s worth the wait. The Ninja Turtles would be proud of our pizza obsession.
